Making A Purchase
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere where the standard currency is other than sterling, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to the appropriate currency.
- We accept Visa, Mastercard and payments by Pay Pal.
- We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship.
- Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped.
- You may send your credit card information over the Internet through our website with complete peace of mind,
- For orders placed over the telephone or by mail order through the post, credit card information is not held at our premises once the order has been shipped.
- You may withdraw and cancel an order at any time before confirming the payment by simply closing your browser.
- Should you change your mind after having confirmed your order and entered your card details, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will action your instruction before any monies are taken.
- Delivery Schedule We do our very best to despatch orders within 24 hours of their receipt, but we will always try to get your order to you as quickly as possible.
- We feel strongly about recycling at the Finishing Touch and will always re-use existing packaging for the despatch of goods. Recycling facilities can often be found at supermarkets or libraries for unwanted cardboard, used batteries etc.
Please allow extra time for your order to be delivered at peak times such as the run-up to Christmas, or over the bank holidays. Our standard delivery charge is related to the Royal Mail second class service and 2-3 days should be allowed for delivery, although this cannot always be guaranteed. We are unable to process any claims for goods lost in the post until 15 working days have elapsed from the date of despatch. Other shipping options are available and delivery chages are clearly displayed at checkout.
Items which are out of stock will be back ordered and despatched as soon as they return to availability. You will of course be advised by email or telephone of such situations, with the option of withdrawing from the purchase. Goods will not be charged to your credit card until the point of despatch.
If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
All of our prices are inclusive of VAT at 20%. If you are ordering from a country where VAT is not applicable it will be calculated on your order.
Credit Card Security
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the measurements and prices on the web site. Should there be a price fluctuation due to circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change them but will advise you accordingly. Any orders received will be deemed as offers to buy and not acceptance of any offer to sell.

Personal information we collect

- User account data will be held for a rolling period 2 years from when you last placed an order or logged into your user area.
- Desensitised / sanitised (removal of your personal data) financial data about orders will be held for a period of 6 years from the end of the current financial year as is legally required
We may from time to time sell products on our site that are age restricted, such as knives. In these scenarios we will seek date of birth of the purchaser as proof of the right to purchase.

Of course we want you to be completely happy with your purchases, but we do appreciate that you might occasionally want to return items for an exchange or refund.
Under the distance selling regulations, if you buy online or by phone, consumer rights entitle you to a full refund if you request one in writing within 7 working days of receipt of the original order. We are happy to extend this period to 14 days. Returned items should be in a saleable condition, and if possible in their original packaging. Please complete and validate the certificate of posting detailed below and be sure to pack them securely in a way which will ensure their safe return.
We make every effort to ensure that items are shipped to you in perfect conditions, but in the unlikely event of a faulty product, an exchange or refund will be processed within ten days and your return postage refunded. Should you discover a fault in an item outside our 14 day return period, please contact us for advice. Proof of the date of purchase will be required.
Items to be exchanged will be free of further delivery charges. Should there be a difference in price between the original purchase price and the exchange, we will need your contact details to process the additional payment or refund. When purchasing specs, you will find care instructions enclosed in your parcel. We will not be able to accepts requests for refunds or replacement if the fault is due to misuse or excessive wear and tear.
For your own protection, a certificate of posting is enclosed with every parcel we despatch. This should be stamped by the post office when you return goods to us as proof of their despatch. Goods lost in transit cannot be treated as returned.
We also enclose a returns form in every parcel. We are constantly seeking to improve ur service to you and it would therefore be really helpful if you would indicate on your returns form the reason you are seeking an exchange/refund. Please do not hesitate to contact us for a second copy of the returns form, should the original be mislaid. Please note that you will be responsible for the cost of returning items to us, unless we delivered the item to you in error, or if the item is damaged or defective.
Any items received as a gift can be returned for either an exchange or for gift vouchers. An email advising the request will be sent to the person who made the original purchase. Refunds can only be made to the card of the original purchaser.
